My favorite of the wines I tasted, this scrumptious Chardonnay rests 9 months in 35% new French oak barrels. Opening with a bit of reductiveness on the nose, this marvelous Chardonnay from Gary Farrell and the Sta. Rita Hills AVA brings notes of fresh white nectarine, ripe yellow apple, white wildflower and a hint of crushed volcanic rock. Medium-plus acidity and a medium-full mouthfeel create the base to deliver a lengthy and toasty almond and spicy finish. This Chardonnay is very Meursault-like, incredibly delicious and is highly recommend. 603 cases produced in total.
