Sandhi calls this their “Village Wine”, however the quality is far from a Village level wine. The fruit for this terrific Chardonnay is sourced from the Rita’s Crown, Bentrock and Wenzlau vineyards. This opens with fantastic aromas of lemon peel, flinty mineral, tropical fruit, smoke and fresh floral notes. It is well balanced and very lively on the palate with lots of acidity and a ripping, mouth-watering finish. This is an excellent example of the unique climate, terroir and style of the Santa Rita Hills and an excellent entry into the range of Chardonnay’s from Sandhi. (2014-2020) - April, 2014 (MD)
