The 2014 La Rinconada Vineyard Pinot Noir is an excellent showing from Chanin. This striking pinot instantly delivers wonderful aromas of ripe cherries, red fruits, sweet berries and hints of earth which are followed by intense fresh rose, tobacco, licorice, spices and some initial hints of vanilla. On this palate this is beautifully structured and elegant with wonderful purity followed by a long lingering finish. Today, this Pinot shows wonderful potential, and will certainly continue to improve and gain complexity with some additional bottle age. (Best 2017-2028) - May, 2016 (MD)
