The ‘La Bauge Au-dessus’ is a terroir driven Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido and Le Bon Climat vineyards in Santa Maria. Wine maker Jim Clendenen has a very hands on approach in the cellar and ages this in French Oak Barrels made by Francois Frères in Burgundy. This Pinot is bright with lots of red fruit, brambly raspberry and black tea, which accented by pepper, spices and a hint of vanilla blossom on the nose. It starts out with dense and juicy fruit, showing a lovely inner sweetness and balance through the palate. Overall, this possesses a supple style, with great purity and a silky texture and finishes up with nice length. (Best 2015-2024) - May, 2015 (JD)
