The 2013 'Authenticty' is an absolutle knockout. Composed perdominately of Syrah (82%) from the Paderewski Vineyard and was aged for 17 months in 53% new French oak. The wine instantly begins to release intense aromatics of black cherry liquor, crème de cassis, violets and mocha which all soar from the glass. This possesses remarkable density and concentration, as flavors of crème de cassis, sweet pipe tobacco, mocha and crushed mint resonate across the palate. The weight and tension is lovely as it continues to leave behind layers of complex flavors on the long finish. Overall, the Authenticty is a simply outstanding effort from Epoch and winemaker, Jordan Florentini. (Best 2017-2030) - December, 2017 (OB)
