The Woolsey Road Vineyard is located just south of the winery and was planted by the Martinelli family in back in 2007 with old Wente clone rootstocks. This wine was aged in 26% new French oak for 19 months prior to bottling and begins with a lovely aromatic display of lemon oil, crème brûlée and roasted pineapple nuances which leap from the glass. The palate is beautifully textured, displaying an unctuous edge and marvelous tension. Flavors of Pink Lady apple, butterscotch and crème brûlée continue to impress as they lead up the the gorgeous finsih. While excellent now, this Chardonnay should continue to evolve beautifully for years to come. (Best 2017-2030) - December, 2017 (OB)
