The first vintage of Napa Valley Cabernet from Paul Lato, and it’s a stunner. The 2019 Festina Lente, meaning “rush slowly,” is the perfect name for this scintillating wine. Bountiful aromas sneak up on you and deliver wonderful layers of black currant, dark cherry, cassis, dark chocolate, black licorice, and dried mountain mint - the more you let it open up, the more aromas you detect. The palate is fresh and balanced with phenomenal flavors of brambly fruit, Clementine oranges, scorched cedary herbs, fresh eucalyptus, Spruce forest, and dried sage. Racy acidity, round and plush tannins, and a long finish complete the wine. A great first effort from Paul Lato!
