The 2018 Wall Road Vineyard is a 3-acre mountain top vineyard situated at the northern tip of the Mount Veeder due west of the To Kalon vineyard. The vineyard sits above the marine layer and has sloping terrain with a south/southeast orientation, which allows for a long and steady growing season. The wine itself is fantastic, plush layered and opulent, with inviting aromas of dark plums, dark cherries and blueberries, which are laced with sweet pipe tobacco, pie crust and roasted savory herbs. This possesses a wonderful full body that is rich and voluptuous, as flavors of dark plums and savory nuances continue to build up to the long enveloping finish. This is a wonderful wine to approach today, but it should also go on to offer pleasure for well over a decade.
