The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon from Brandlin Estate comes from a ridgetop vineyard on Mount Veeder. This instantly begins to impress with profound aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, crème de cassis, and red berries, which are followed by crushed violets, mountain herbs, and hints of fresh mint and dark chocolate all developing in the glass. On the palate this is medium plus to full-bodied, wonderful opulence and a gorgeous texture that expands into the plush finish. While this is delicious today, it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade or more.
