The 2013 Pinot Noir is the first vintage from Mindego Ridge, and all of the fruit is Estate Grown on their 8.7 acre home vineyard, located just 8 miles from the Pacific in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Winemaker, Ehren Jordan makes the wine in small lots with minimal intervention in efforts to preserve the character of both the vineyard and vintage. This decision seems to have paid off, as this offers gorgeous fresh and vibrant aromas of raspberry, baking spice, ripe currant, with secondary layers of fresh strawberries, dark soil and spring flowers bursting from the glass. This possesses wonderful focus and balance, with lots of red fruits wrapped in soft tannins, leading up to a vibrant finish. Overall, a wonderful effort by Winemaker Ehren Jordan that should continue to show well for up to a decade. (Best 2015-2025) - April, 2015 (MD)
