Composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 ‘Estate’ Cabernet is quite expressive at this early stage. In a modern style, it instantly opens to aromatics of ripe black currants and dark cherries, woven together with pencil shavings, vanilla and a combination of sweet spices all bursting from the glass. Full-bodied, rich and layered, with a densely packed core of ripe dark fruits which expand through a lovely opulent texture. While this is already drinking quite well, I expect this will only become more appealing over the next few years as it continues to evolve in bottle. (Best 2018-2030) - December, 2017 (JD)
