Sourced from the Winston Hill Vineyard, which consists of 35 planted acres spanning across the 107-acre lot that rises 500-feet off the valley floor along Rutherford's eastern hillsides, The vines are positioned to a southwestern exposure, which allows them to receive some of the longest hours of sunshine in the valley. The 2016 Winston Hill Proprietary Red is another stunning release from Frank Family in this vintage. Ripe and expressive, it immediately begin to release with aromas of blackberries and dark currents which are woven together with espresso, graphite, fresh floral and hints of loam and wild herbs. On the palate this is full-bodied and well balanced, with a lovely polished texture. It goes on to show a notable level of restraint, along with wonderful freshness that keeps it light on its feet all the way through the luscious finish. Overall, this is a is simply fabulous wine that will be accessible upon release, however it should also offer well over a decade of drinking pleasure.
