The 2011 Frank Family Vineyards Winston Hill Vineyard 'Reserve' Sangiovese brings sweet and savory aromas of roasted plums and cherries along with damp earth, spices, grilled herbs and lightly toasted oak, The soft texture is supported by fine silky tannins which end in a velvety finish. Winemaker Todd Graff has done a very nice job with this wine, but it seems to just be missing some of the purity and structure of a truly great Sangiovese. However, that being said, this is certainly one of the better ones that I have come across outside of Tuscany. (Best 2014-2020) - July, 2013 (JD)
