The 2016 'Mailbox Peak' red wine from Pearl and Stone is a blend of largely Merlot and Cabernet Franc that begins with aromas of red cherry preserves, orange rind, toasty oak and black tea that all build in the glass. The palate has a wonderful silky texture and rich mouthfeel with flavors of red and dark fruits that are accented by nice minerality. This is delicious now and should also hold up nicely in the cellar for a few years.
