The 2013 Corliss Syrah is a gorgeous rich wine that shows the heat of the vintage nicely. With a touch of Viognier blended in, this inky Syrah starts off with beef blood, cigar ash and black fruits on the nose. The texture from the concrete aging is really outstanding. Black cherry liquor, blueberry compote and coffee ground flavors connect with a wonderful minerality. This is an exceedingly good wine by winemaker, Andrew Trio.
