SAGEMOOR Sauvignon Blanc 'Without Rehearsal' 2016

The 2016 Sagemoor Sauvignon Blanc is ab lend of 68% Sauvignon Blanc and the remainder Semillon. The wine is sourced from vines aged twenty years and older. This is their Bordeaux blanc style wine, an homage to the DeLille Cellars ‘Chaleur Estate’ White Wine. The Semillon was aged in oak (a touch new French oak) while the Sauvignon Blanc was aged in stainless steel. The wine shows wonderful toasty oak with brioche and lemongrass aromatics. The mouthfeel is bright and rich, showing a wonderful texture. Tropical fruits connect with citrus rind and pear on the palate The wine finishes strong with vanilla cream. This is simply outstanding and shows surprising levels of acidity considering the heat of the vintage.
