The 2008 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a simply thrilling wine from Quilceda Creek which delivers on every level. It begins with drop-dead stunning aromas of ripe blackberries and dark plums that are laced with spices, bell pepper, herbs, graphite licorice, and dried violets that all emerge gracefully from the glass. The palate is full-bodied and utterly seamless, with excellent concentration and focus. This beautifully balanced Cabernet goes on to display incredible freshness and purity, with gorgeous layers of delicious ripe dark fruits that resonate all the way through the long, expressive finish. The 2008 is a wonderful example of finesse and power, and after a decade in bottle this looks to have entered the prime of its evolution. Composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot from Champoux, Klipsun, Palengat, and Tapteil vineyards.
