BETZ Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain 'Heart of the Hill' 2018

A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot is aged for 19 months in 100% French oak barrels. The nose is a typical Red Mountain aroma of wet rocks, red and black fruits, tangerine, mocha, cigar ash and new leather. The wine is full bodied with high tannins, pronounced dark plum and boysenberry flavors and cedar combined with a touch of sweet baking spices. The wine has dusty tannins, medium plus acidity and incredible fruit that will only get better with a few years of bottle age. I would wait until 2023 to enjoy! Highly recommended. 275 cases produced.
