Betz continues to produce some of the best Syrah in Washington State. The La Côte Patriarche Syrah is the highlight of their lineup. A 100% Syrah from the Red Willows Vineyard is vinified with 70% whole cluster and spends 16 months in French Oak. A wine with a nose that can put you into a trance with aromas of Chambord, blackberry, black raspberry, black olive and tar - give this one a few hours in the glass and watch it evolve over time. The palate is inky with medium plus tannins that shows a savory melange of boysenberry, spanish olives, baking chocolate, charcuterie, dried sage. The finish is lengthy and ends with a mineral, saline quality. This wine deserves another 1-2 years in bottle before enjoying. Highly recommended. Only 250 cases produced
