A combination of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Syrah comes from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. From my experience, all of Buty’s wines break the mold of what you expect a certain varietal of wine to express itself, and this Cabernet does just that. The nose is brooding and complex with expressions of ripe blackberries, buttered popcorn kernels, spruce tree, espresso and fresh rose petals. Dark fruits, cassis, toasted bread, clove and vanilla form a rich, velvety palate.
