The 2019 'Birds + Things + Flowers' Syrah opens to inviting aromas of blueberry compote, dark berries, lavender, pepper and dried herbs, along with hints of mint, and exotic spices. On the palate this is medium-bodied, fresh and elegantly structured, with a bright core laced with flavors of dark berries, dark currants and spices framed by a lovey combination of acidity and minerality on the finish. This is another delicious wine from Upsidedown Wines, which should become even more compelling as it evolves over the course of the next 5-7 years or more.
