The 2019 Illusionist is a melange of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc and is aged for 20 months in 52% new French oak barrels. A lovely deep ruby core with a purple and silver rim with a stunning nose of blackberry, blue plum, violet, chocolate-covered sea salt caramels, dried sage, and a hint of leather. Wonderfully balanced between red and black fruit, savory herbs, sweet baking spice, high acidity, and a lengthy bitter herb and black-fruit-driven finish. Enjoy this beauty over the next decade or more.
