Merlot is dominant in this blend at 88% with Cabernet Franc making up the rest. A dark ruby core with a pinkish rim in the glass, the nose is stunning with aromas of black cherry, red currant, graphite, red licorice, and a touch of green pepper. The palate is rich and spicy with blue plum and boysenberry dominating and secondary notes of dried forest leaves and a hint of leather playing second fiddle. A savory back-palate, medium acidity, and chalky high tannins complete the wine. Best after 2024 and then enjoy for the next decade or more.
