I loved the 2019 Valo Right Bank which is a mélange of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc and is aged in large format 100% neutral French oak barrels. Dark ruby core with a neon purple rim in the glass, it explodes with aromas of blackberry, green bell pepper, cassis, black pepper, and some gamey salumi tones. Racy acidity, ripe elevated tannins learn towards a savory and chalky finish, ending with gobs of fruit and earth.
