Displaying a stunning neon ruby core with a pink rim, the 2020 Cabernet Franc from WWV spends 18 months in 26% new French oak and 10% new American oak. The mélage of 78% Cabernet Franc, 19% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon expresses notes of wild blueberry, boysenberry pie, purple wildflowers, cedary herbs, green peppercorn, and just a hint of shaved chocolate. Producing a bitter herb and black fruit characteristic on the front and mid-palate, it finishes with ample acidity and grippy oak tannin that will need some time in the bottle to all come together. Better in 2023. 1000 cases made.
