The 2020 Woodward Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon Old Vines is sourced from some of Washington’s oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. Possessing 3% each of Petit Verdot and Malbec and spending 22 months in 100% new French oak, this medium purple offering shows prominent oak on the nose. The fine, settled, and sultry tannic base provides a wonderful mouthfeel. Blackberry, smokey bramble, prune and sweet tobacco are all present early. This medium bodied wine continues to round out as it moves mid-palate through the finish, flashing ripe plum, concentrated licorice and slight liquid malt. There is no reason to delay enjoying this wine, it is approachable now and will have 15 good years of enjoyment ahead of it.
