The 2006 Col Solare is a gorgeous wine made of 72% Cabernet, 19% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Syrah. Perfumed nose of prime, black cherry, green olive and cassis. Velvety mouthfeel with minimal tannic structure. Hard to believe this wine is almost 10 years old given the vibrant acid backbone. Persistent Flavors of boysenberry, mocha, vanilla and a 30 second finish. A truly remarkable wine that still has a bright future. (Drink 2012-2025) - July, 2015 (OB)
The 2006 Col Solare is absolutely delicious, with sweet currant, cassis, mocha and spices rounding it out. Dense and luscious with polished tannins working their way into the long, supple finish. Today, this is absolutely delicious and should contunie to show well for at least another decade. 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Syrah. Col Solare is a partnership between Tuscany’s Piero Antinori and Washington State’s Chateau Ste. Michelle. (Drink 2012-2022) - April, 2012 (JD)
