This wine was named after the owners grandfather, Russell Ferrelli who made wine during the Prohibition. He kept making wine for himself and moved to Seattle because the area in Chicago he was living in was becoming a bit rough. Aged 22 months in 85% new French oak, this wine delivers. There are aromas of red bell pepper, red currant, anise and blackberry. Flavors of blackberry preserves, anise, red bell pepper, smoke and mocha persist. This is dense and absolutely delicious, with mouth-watering acidity that makes you beg for another sip. (Best 2016-2028) - January, 2016 (OB)
