This Chardonnay comes from from the Celilo Vineyard (51%), grown in the Columbia River Gorge and the Woodward Canyon Estate (49%) in the northwestern corner of the Walla Walla Valley. This dense and beautifully textured wine begins with aromas of poached pear, brioche, and butter with gala apple on the nose. The flavors are bright. There is Japanese pear, starfruit, Gala apple, alongisde lithe minerality. It is impressive that they were able to obtain this level of structure from this hot vintage. Absolutely delicious bottling from these guys that continue to impress with some of the best Chard in the state. (Best 2016-2023) - February, 2015 (OB)
