This wine is created by Maggie Harrison, formerly with Sin Que Non and the project began with the 2004 vintage. This current bottling comes from the White Hawk, Stolpman and Bien Nacido vineyard (cooler climate). There is a lovely sense of place to this cultured bottling. The wine begins with aromas reminiscent of smoked meats, red cherry and lavender. This leads to lovely rich flavors of blackberry, red cherry, cherry tomato and anise. This is lithe, delicious and rich. I slightly prefer this to the '10 at this juncture. This is very hard to resist right now, as the acidity and fruit profiles beg for another sip.
