LILLIAN WINERY Syrah 2010

Maggie Harrison, formerly with Sin Que Non, serves as head winemaker on this project. This wine comes from some of the most famous area vineyards like Stolpman, Bien Nacido and White Hawk. The wine weighs in at 15.3% alcohol. There are dense aromas of anise, blackberry and milk chocolate. On the palate this Syrah has a silky and rich texture, with lovely fruit flavors of anise, mocha, black cherry and blackberry preserves. Overall this is a lovely effort, albeit slightly on the heavy side. I was slightly more impressed by the 2009 bottling, which currently shows better balance. (Best 2015-2025) - November, 2015 (OB)
