The 2013 Red Rock Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon is a simply fabulous wine from Diamond Creek. Displaying an incredible dark, inky, opaque color, this instantly begins to seduce with aromatics of blackberries, blueberries and cassis, woven together with graphite, sweet spices, fresh spring floral and hints of licorice. While the aromas are nothing short of fascinating, this really begins to impress on the palate, where it shows remarkable overall purity, depth and concentration, with a core of ripe dark fruits laced with graphite, sweet spices and hints of iron all coming together on the lovely plush texture. The balance and finesse are simply remarkable, as this makes a seamless transition into the ultra-long finish. Pushing the limits of perfection, the Red Rock Terrace is an utterly compelling wine which is absolutely striking now, yet will continue to age gracefully for many years to come.
