The 2015 'Solari' is another absolutely incredible wine from Larkmead in this vintage. The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from vines planted to gravel and clay soils, and spent 19 Months, 82% New Tonnellerie Demptos. The result is a simply stunning wine, which at this youthful age, looks to be the most profound of all Larkmead's wines from the vintage. As this unwinds in the glass it begins to releases simply gorgeous aromatics of fresh dark currants and dark cherries, laced with graphite, violets, cocoa bean, savory herbs and crushed stone nuances that all take shape. On the palate this is full-bodied and precisely structured, with beautifully polished tannins framing a deep, layered core that resonates with gorgeous ripe red and dark fruits. Showing a wonderful combination of power and refinement, the Solari has it all, and is amongst one of the finest wines to come from this vintage.
