Over the past several years, I have loved most of the Efeste wines I have tried, especially their suite of single vineyard Syrahs. This Jolie Bouche is no exception to that rule. The wine shows dark purple and inky in the glass and expresses itself on the nose with perfumed chambord, black currants and roasted leg of lamb. The savory palate has dominant flavors of graphite, dried meats, iron, black pepper and minerality which then opens to beautiful fresh blackberry and dark plum fruit notes. Give this another year or two in the bottle for it to really shine.
