Brick and Mortar's West Block Syrah comes from a vineyard site located in Petaluma, which benefits from the cool maritime climate off the San Pablo Bay. This cooler climate Syrah offers aromas of plums, baking spices, black olives, dried herbs and violets. On the palate this possesses a medium body with a core of blackberry, olive, pepper and spice flavors that lead into the supple, acidic finish. While this is showing excellent today it should also coninue to evolve nicely with some additiona bottle age over the next few years.
