PATZ & HALL Pinot Noir, Gap’s Crown Vineyard 2014

Gap’s Crown is a premier vineyard in the Sonoma Coast for Pinot Noir and the 2014 from Patz and Hall is simply fantastic. It opens with gorgeous aromas of ripe raspberries and black plum along with spices and dried violets, adding in a mix of alluring savory nuances hinting at freshly turned soil, ground coffee and fresh porcini. This is beautifully structured and balanced with gorgeous round, velvety tannins backed by a lovely touch of acidity as it heads into the seamless finish. This is already extremely impressive and should continue to show well with additional bottle age. (Best 2016-2025) - April, 2016 (JD)
