The 2014 LaRue Coastlands Vineyard Pinot Noir is an utterly fascinating wine in this vintage. It was aged for 30 months in barrel and is a blend of three different Pinot Noir clones, Pommard, Martini, and Wadenswil. The bouquet is simply gorgeous and wonderfully complex, with aromas of raspberries and cherries woven together with exotic spices, fresh cut florals, loamy soil, leather and hints of scorched earth. Remarkably focused and precise on the palate, this displays striking elegance and sheer class, as the beautifully pure red fruits and berries work their way into the mouth watering finish. This is a top-notch Pinot Noir fro Katy Wilson which will continue to become even more compelling as it evolves gracefully over the next decade plus.
