From a cool and rocky site in the Mayacama Mountains where the same 12 rows have been hand worked since 2003 comes the 2006 Arnot-Roberts Clajeux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The opaque glass staining dark purple color that this displays makes you aware it is going to be a massive wine from the second it leaves the bottle. It exhibits aromas and flavors of black currants, sweet cassis, blueberries, spices, herbs, black olive, espresso, pepper, fresh lavender and underlying mineral notes. Full-bodied, dense and powerful with rich complex layers of fruit supported by soft round tannins which explode on your palate. The finish leaves you with a mouthful of dark fruits that carries on and on. With only 2.5 barrels produced this will not be highly available. (Best 2012-2023) - October, 2012 (JD)
