ANTHILL FARMS Pinot Noir 'Demuth Vineyard' 2012

Anthill Farms owns two blocks in the Demuth Vineyard, which actually function like two separate vineyards, the terraced rows of the Wädenswil clone form one section, while the Pommard block sits on a shelf a bit lower down the slope. The vineyard sits at an elevation of 1400-1600feet and is farmed by Anthony and Knez Winery. The 2012 is a sensational showing, it displays pretty aromas of raspberry, blood orange, spices and dried floral come together beautifully in the glass. This has a wonderful soft, silky texture, yet is kept fresh and balanced by the gorgeous acidity and finishes up bright and juicy. Although the wine has potential to age nicely, it’s already so delicious that it’s hard to recommend waiting much longer. (Best 2014-2022) - May, 2014 (JD)
