TALISMAN WINES Pinot Noir, Weir Vineyard 'Méthode Ancienne' 2014

This Pinot Noir is a special bottling from Talisman, sourced from the Weir Vineyard in the Yorkville Highlands, this is their "Méthode Ancienne" Pinot Noir. It is made from whole cluster 2A and Romanée-Conti clones and extremely limited with only 2 barrels made. The wine itself is slow to unwind, but with some air this started to reveal its gorgeous aromas of black cherries, mineral, rose petal along with some earthy aromas and spices. This is well structured, balanced with a beautiful long finish. While this is quite appealing today, I would recommend this be cellared for 2-3 years or more and it can be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years. (Best 2020-2030) - June, 2017 (MD)
