NOBLE WINES Petite Sirah, High Valley 2007

The 2007 High Valley Petite Sirah from Noble Wines comes from a site called Morine Ranch in Clearlake Oaks. where the clone 3 Petite Sirah is planted on a very steep north-south hillsides at 2,000 ft. elevation. The wine spent 21 Months in French and American Oak Barrels (30% new) and displays a dark, inky color. As it opens up it releases aromas of blackberries, blueberries, violets, spices, pepper, fresh turned earth and hints of chocolate shavings. On the palate this is full-bodied, rich and opulent, showing excellent concentration. This finish up with a notable length, leaving behind a generous coating of dark fruits and spices. Today the wine is very accessible and also has a few good years ahead. (Best 2015-2023) - August, 2015 (JD)
