The 2019 'Meia' Cabernet Franc from Gandona is simply delighful. It instantly bursts open with bold aromatics of ripe blue and black fruit, which is joined together by cocoa nibs, espresso, baking spices, pipe tobacco, violets and traces of sweet oak. On the palate this is full-bodied with a gorgeous rich, velvety texture and outstanding depth. It goes on to display remarkable overall balance and finesse as it seamlessly delivers layers of ripe dark fruits, mocha and sweet tobacco flavors that continue to build on the palate, before heading into the long, voluptuous finish. This is already outstanding, however it also possesses the potential to offer a drinking window that spans decades. Absolutely phenomenal!
