The 2019 'Encosta' Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent introduction to the Gandona lineup. It offers inviting aromas ripe cherries, red currants and boysenberries that sit along side wild sage, dried exotic spices and a lovely mineral character of crushed stones and hints of graphite dust. On the palate this medium to full-bodied red shows wonderful elegance and vibrancy, with a bright core of beautifully ripe red and dark currants, fresh florals and minerals that are framed by gorgeous velvety tannins. It continues to impress with its remarkable structure, as it all comes together on the finsih with wonderful focus and length. Allow this another year or two to settle in before approaching.
