Aged for 10 months in 10% new French oak barrels and coming from 100% Pommard clone, this Purple Hands Dundee Hills Reserve starts a bit reductive on the nose but moves to notes of spiced red plum, red currant, tangerine zest, toasted white peppercorn, and cedary herbs. Like most of the Purple Hands wines, the acidity is reaching past the high levels, tannins are rounded but present, and this very young wine will need a year or two to come into its own. Just 489 cases produced.
