Fruit that comes from own-rooted vines which were planted in 1996, the 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir from Four Graces presents a lovely color in the glass - medium brick-ruby core with a neon pink rim. It’s aged for 9 months aged in 25% new French oak and boasts notes of black cherry, strawberry rhubarb pie, wet earth, pine sap, blood orange pith, and pencil shavings. I get a little bit of Asian Hoison sauce on the mid-palate. Acidity and tannins are in check, and it finishes with a blue-fruit note. About 3500 cases made each year.
