HOLOCENE Pinot Noir, Yamhill-Carlton ‘Memorialis’ 2020

A great effort from winemaker Todd Alexander from one of the most difficult vintages of all time. The 2020 Memorialis Pinot Noir presents itself with a deep ruby color and a neon pink rim in the glass. Rich aromas of macerated black cherry, blueberry cobbler, pink peppercorn, and toasted cinnamon stick pop from the glass. The palate is a bit more savory, especially the bitter herb and pepper note that lands on the back palate. It finishes a bit short, but in line with what I’ve been experiencing with other wines from great winemakers in the area in 2020. One of the better Pinot Noirs from Oregon from this vintage. Drink now or over the next 4-5 years. 150 cases produced.
