Shimmering dark ruby core with a brickish rim in the glass, the 2019 Yamhill-Carlton Origin sees 20% whole cluster and spent 10 months in about 30% new French oak. Powerful, spice-accented red cherry liquor, green peppercorn, tobacco leaf, and sea breeze aromas are complemented by vanilla bean, anise, wet earth, and baked huckleberry tones as the wine starts to open. More lean and crisp on the palate, than on the nose, it finishes with a crushed stone minerality and a touch of dried cedary herbs on the back palate. About 400 cases produced
