Purple rose petals, sweet black cherry, melted dark chocolate and wonderful sweet baking spice all emerge in the glass from the 2019 Force Majeure Tempranillo. Todd Alexander is one of the best winemakers in Washington State, and the number of varietals, grown in an expansive variety of vineyards across the state, showcase how incredible he really is - because all of his wines are great, not just good. You wouldn’t expect Tempranillo to be this delicious outside of Spain, but his magic touch transforms this grape into something special. Don’t expect an old-world Rioja from this wine, but do expect a stunning new-world wine boasting black-fruit flavors, cedary spice, black pepper and violet flavors. Perfectly balanced, medium to full-bodied which delivers on the mid-palate with integrated tannins and perfect acidity, it’s just plain delicious.
