WEATHEREYE Grenache, Red Mountain ‘Estate’ 2019

100% Grenache coming from one block of the Weathereye Vineyard that is wind-blown with sandy soils, this sees 70% whole cluster and neutral puncheons for 18 months. It’s medium ruby in the glass with a silver rim and boasts aromas of wild blueberry, candied black raspberry, blood orange zest, lilac, and wild mountain sagebrush. Moving on to the palate, the red fruit and savory flavors are generous, sweet and delicious, showing a graceful sense of purity and a superb richness that I didn’t expect. The tannins are sweet and smooth so pop a bottle today or hold for the next 7-8 years. Only 70 cases produced.
