Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels, this blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot is a showstopper. Displaying a dark, inky purple core with a silvery rim, this wine is even better than the 2018, which was phenomenal. It boasts notes of spiced black cherry compote, black currant, dried lavender, cigar box, cedary herbs, and vanilla bean. Tannins are in the medium-high range but don’t distract from the overall balance of the wine. I believe this has the stuff to age for another 20 years. If you do want to enjoy it now, give it a good 4-5 hour decant. Highly recommended.
